¿Qué puedo traer a México, y cómo puedo hacerlo?

Al acercarse a México por tierra, debe fijarse bien en que línea o carril  va antes de cruzar la frontera.  Qué carril  va a utilizar depende de lo que traiga consigo hacía México.  Generalmente hay muchos carriles  que dicen "Nada que Declarar",  y uno o dos carriles al lado derecho que dicen "Carril de Declaración."

Carril "Nada que Declarar"
Este carril se utiliza cuando usted trae consigo como turista:
  • Su equipaje personal
  • Otra mercancia que no exceda de US $300 por persona.

    Artículos permitidos en su equipaje personal:
    • Artículos personales, nuevos o usados, como ropa, zapatos, artículos de tocador, en cantidades de acuerdo a su estadía de viaje, (obviamente no para venta).
    • Cámara fotográfica y de video y cargador,  12 rollos para la cámara, cartuchos en blanco, o videocasets, teléfono celular, radio,  un par de binoculares, máquina de escribir, una computadora portátil "laptop" nueva o  usada. (También debe tener conocimiento de los requisitos de re-entrada  de la Aduana de Estados Unidos en lo referente a traer una laptop y otros artículos de alto valor de regreso a Estados Unidos).
    • Dos equipos deportivos, por ejemplo dos raquetas.
    • Grabadora portátil.
    • Cinco discos laser, cinco DVDs, 20 CDs or cassets.
    • Libros y revistas en cantidades que obviamente no sean para su venta. 
    • Medicina para su uso personal. En caso de drogas sicotrópicas traiga consigo la receta: Nota: Tenga cuidado de no traer una gran cantidad de sus medicamentos. Ha habido algunos americanos que desafortunadamente los encarcelaron por violar la ley referente a drogas bajo prescripción médica.
    • Equipaje necesaraiao para transportar artículos personales 
    • Un instrumento musical.
    • Tienda de campaña y equipo para acampar.
    • Tabla de surf o de  windsurf.
    • Artículos personales que utilize un discapacitado.
    • 20 cajetillas de cigarros,  25 puros or 200 gramos de tabaco, si es mayor de edad. 
    • 3 litros de vino, cerveza o licor si es mayor de edad.
    • Hasta $10,000 dólares o su equivalente en otra moneda, cheques nacionales o extranjeros, y/u otros instrumentos monetarios. 
Si trae cosas con valor superior a los US $300, use el Carril de Declaración.
